According to StackOverflow, during 2020 Python became the language that aroused the most interest among programmers users. In fact, during that same year the newspaper El Economista published the following sentence:

unsplash-image-UWVJaDvXW_c.jpg

Although Google, Bing, and Baidu are the most popular search engines, it does not mean that they are the only ones. I could actually mention 10 search engines that you don't even know exist.

Anyways, in this blog, I will focus just on search engines that do not use tracking or personalized searches, so if you are concerned about your privacy, these search engines may be for you.

1. DuckDuckGo

It is a search engine that respects and protects the privacy of its users. This means that your search results will not be based on your previous searches because this search engine does not save your information (geographic data, gender, search preferences). In other words, it prevents you from entering the filter bubble of manipulated results.

DuckDuckGo is a metasearch engine that draws on approximately 400 different sources of information, it is considered a hybrid search engine because it has its own site tracker called DuckDuckbot.

Additionally, the interface of this search engine is clean and simple, you will come across a minimum amount of ads so the user experience will be pleasant. Besides not tracking or recording any information about you or your searches, this search engine allows you to add the DuckDuckGo extension to your browser to keep your activity private.

Plus Startpage offers a mail server for its users; Startmail also provides greater security and privacy than Gmail, 10 GB of inbox space, and various modes for private users, professionals, or companies that require highly private and secure mail servers.

3. Qwant

This search engine emerged in France in 2013 and is currently being promoted by European governments with the aim of encouraging their citizens to stop using Google and start using this search engine since, unlike the Internet giant, this search engine does not track or record your information.

The interface of this search engine is similar to Google and offers access to web pages, news, social networks, and photographs related to the topic you are looking for.
