Defining your Life Purpose

2Blog-header-construct.jpg

We’re all born with a distinctive Purpose; and both, the identification and pursuit of that Purpose are the best things you can do in order to live a fulfilling, happy life.

Today, we’re going to talk about how to identify your Purpose and then to create a Purpose Statement, which will become a road map to guide you through life.

What do you love to do?

First of all, you need to mentally explore the things you already love to do and always come easily to you…
Think about those things… What do you love to do most? What are those things that, when you’re doing them, time seems to stop?
It might be something you work hard to develop into a talent, but that it felt natural to you, like going down a water slide.

Make a list of all that comes to your mind and see what they all have in common.

1. What qualities do you love expressing?

Now, ask yourself, what are two values that you most enjoy expressing in the world? My two values are Courage and Integrity; what are yours? Remember to write them down.

2. In what way do you express them?

Once you have those two identified, what are two ways in which you enjoy expressing them? My ways are Inspiring and empowering others.

Write down yours now.

3. What does a “perfect world” look like to you?

Finally, take a moment now to describe what a “perfect world” would look like to you. How is every one relating to each other? What are they doing on a daily basis?
For me, in a perfect world, people will be living the higher version of themselves; everyone is doing what they love most and sharing it with others.

Write down your own description now, because the next step is to combine all the previous steps to create your Life Purpose Statement.

Create your Life Purpose Statement

Ok, now take a moment to combine the 3 points into one single statement that will start to outline your Purpose.
I wrote down my Purpose here. Use it as a guideline to create yours:

My Life Purpose is to inspire and empower (2) people to live the higher version of themselves (3), in a context of courage and integrity (1).

Every time I’m living it, I feel like I’m “in the zone”; I love every minute of it. I could spend 8 hours straight and it feels like playing! Don’t get me wrong, work and effort are in did a requirement, but suffering is not. If you are stressed and suffering, you’re probably living your life off-course; off-purpose, we could say.

Create your Life Purpose Statement and start guiding your life to a more satisfying experience.

See you next week.
Stay strong!

Behind every problem lies the Gift of Growth

Problems are gifts; it just happens we’re not always able to see beyond its wrapping.

Problems are an inevitable part of life. They always come and go, only sometimes, they tend to come back the same, time after time.

Those are the problems that don’t seem to go away, they stick around longer than usual, and our customary problem-solving methods don’t seem to apply to them; they keep coming back in various different ways, but all the same in essence. And the longer you take in addressing them, the more intensity they display.

This is the Universe (you may call it God, Karma, you name it) have to teach us life lessons in order for us to grow and expand.

We all tend to look at problems as something from the outside world, over which we have little or no control; when in reality, all it would take to resolve would be a little –or sometimes, big- shift in our thinking and behavior.

Inside each of them, there is a lesson we haven’t learned yet, and they will keep appearing until we do.

The approach to these type of recurring problems is never to keep blaming external circumstances; instead, you should look at yourself in the mirror and ask why you keep making poor decisions and still keep expecting different results.

You can look at your problems as immutable outside circumstances, or as obstacles that are there for you to overcome and learn from.

If you choose to look at them as learning opportunities, this is how you can tackle them:

1. Look at the bigger picture.

Ask yourself why you do the things you do. Do you see any patterns there? If you can identify and then interrupt the patterns that don’t serve you, you will get better results.

2. You gotta change something.

You know how the saying goes; if you keep doing the same thing, you’ll keep getting the same results. You got to make a change. Decide what two-degree shift you are willing to commit to in order to turn your sailboat and change your destination –and your outcome, once and for all.

How you look at your problems will influence how you deal with them directly.
If you are able to see the gift of growth inside each obstacle and search for the solution within yourself, you can use them to propel your life forward.

Always remember, life is happening for you, not to you.

Make your Team a Happy Team – Part 3

Blog-header-construct-09192019.jpg

It is a proven fact, happy employees add more to your business and increase your profitability.

They are way more productive, less likely to change jobs, take less sick leave, and have more energy which they are willing to invest in your business.

They will also have a higher achievement rate than their unhappy counterparts.

But there is a big difference between happiness and engagement factors, and the key to a happy team lays in knowing how to combine both in balance.

These are a few suggestions you can try to help achieve this balance, plus a higher level of profitability.

1. Team engagement starts with your commitment

Take the time to get to know your team members as individuals.

Getting to know them will tell you how to motivate them. It’s the details what will show them you care about them as people, not just workers –only, in order to do so, you will genuinely have to care.

2. Give them the tools and training for their personal growth

They will know that you’re invested in them if you take the time to develop their skills, challenge them to learn more, do more and accomplish more; give them the ability to move forward within the company.

3. Listen to your team members

Every member of your team is motivated differently, so review them often so you can learn how to find what is the perfect combination of programs and resources for that person.
Once you get their feedback, act on it.

4. Boost teamwork through team-building activities

Your relationship with your team members is important, but so is the close relationship between teammates.
When you encourage this kind of friendship through team-based projects, and team-building activities, this creates a sense of responsibility and accountability within the team –they don’t want to let their mates down.

5. Use rewards and incentives

These are huge motivators for most workers, also non-cash related awards, and inside-the-team recognition programs are excellent tools for engagement.

An engaged workforce is a happy, productive workforce, and that is always good for your business.

Work towards developing your team members as individuals, help them become their best versions of themselves, and you will be well on your way to happy and engaged teams.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this Team Happiness series of articles, and that you were able to implement them into your business strategies.

See you next week.
